mutt configuration

Hi,

I have configured mutt to google smtp on centos 6.8. the configuration is below is placed in the .muttrc file

set from = "abc@gmail.com"
set realname = "Francis"
set smtp_url = "smtps://abc@gmail.com@smtp.gmail.com:465/"
#set smtp_url = "smtp://abc@gmail.com@smtp.gmail.com:587/"
set smtp_pass = "xyz@320"
set certificate_file=~/.mutt/certificates
set ssl_starttls=yes
set ssl_force_tls=yes

When i try to send email using the below command the email is sent but i dont receive it

mutt -s 'Uptime Report' 'ffernandes@airarabia.com' < /home/netline/LSY-eMail-TEST.txt

whereas when i try to send via mutt command in the interactive way i receive the email.

Can someone help me figure out this issue

Can you exclude that the mail-text (LSY-eMail-TEST.txt) contains headers which mess up the procedure?

Smtp is for sending mail. To receive mail, you have to configuring a mail fetching application. There are a number, but the easiest to set up is like fetchmail.

Here's a good tutorial: http://www.calmar.ws/mutt/

My favorite Mutt tutorial seems to have disappeared.

I did a podcast about my learning how to use Mutt for Hacker Public Radio. You might find it useful. http://hackerpublicradio.org/eps.php?id=1727

Hi,

I do not need to receive any email, my intention is just to send email via gmail smtp server without any interaction.

You did explain, above, that you do not receive mail. This implies, that you wish to receive mail. PSE reformulate your actual question. Me, at least, I am confused. What do you want, and what can we do for you?

Okay. A GMail != Mail != WebMail problem.
