music streaming program for cli
I am using an old laptop with Slackware 10. It's hooked up to DSL and surfs the web good and streams music great. Since it starts up to the console till I type startx for my GUI session, I'm wondering if it's possible to stream music from just the console (no GUI in the background)? I'm not able to do this with xmms-it needs the x-session.

mplayer will do most music formats, and also can do video.
