Music Software

Just wondering if there was any linux programs that would burn CDs and labels similar to Nero. Or any programs that you could copy the music file names and paste them in a document. Amarok won't do this which makes it more difficult because then I have to create a word document.

You didn't tell us your distro or desktop environment, but since you mentioned Amarok I will just assume you're using KDE...
Alas, you also didn't specify what excatly you are up to!
I figure, you want to comfortably generate a track list for an Audio CD.

Ok, you can do this with programs like kover or koverartist.

But what "source" do you want to generate this list from? You CD burning application (K3B (it won't get any better than this) or Arson) or your audio player (Amarok)?

I remember, K3B once had the functionality built in to export audio tracks to an external CD label software. Can't find it anymore...

But for amarok there is a script named CoverPrint which is able to export the current playlist to an SVG.

You could also dump the current playlist from amarok via dcop to a text file and import it in koverartist.

have fun

Thanks. I'll try this when I get a chance. I was trying to burn an mp3 CD to use for djing this past weekend using openSUSE 10.2 (Kde). I wanted to print out a list of the songs for ease of use.

K3B is alive and well. Good program for what you want.
