i need a music player that runs in the console

i need it to play any kind of music file and that can play internet streaming files

what program would be good to do this?

is their a non-graphical version of xmms?

mp3blaster is the best console mp3 player. Don't know about streaming files though.

sure, mp3blaster kicks ass!!! For windows files, give a try to mplayer if mp3blaster cannot handle them

mplayer can do anything, as long as you are willing to tweak it.

will mplayer run in the console?
