music library problems
I am trying to create a music library on one of my computers, running Mandriva 2006. When I insert a musical CD, KsCD recognizes it, pulls the cddb tags off the internet, and starts playing the music. When I go to Amarok, I can't navigate to the CD Rom to attempt to build a collection. I was told that fstab wouldn't find the CD, since it wasn't a true data CD. I then tried K3B, loaded the CD, got the meta tags and burned the image onto our server. When I went into Kaffeine and Amarok, the tags were missing from it, and each song was titled K3b music file . wav or something like that. Kaudiocreator recognizes tags automatically, but will only rip them to CD, not to the hard drive. MPlayer won't find the CD Rom either to burn them onto the hard drive. Any suggestions?

You need to rip the cd. It is not data. Try ripperX, grip or others.
