Music CD's dont sound too good.

Hi everyone,

I can play stuff perfectly with xmms and mplayer, and my sounds works. But I can't seem to get a Music CD to play loud and clear. When I play the CD my speakers get really fuzzy and staticy, and I have to turn the vlume waaay up just to hear anything at all (the music).

Any suggestions?
TIA

Hook up the actual audio cable from your DVD player to your soundcard.

Im putting the cd into my computer, it is a dvd drive, but its just a music cd. And I'm on a laptop, so Im just plugging my speakers into my headphones jack.
