Munin - Changing CPU Notify Threshold

Hi.

Currently I use Munin to monitor about 35 servers. It works great, and I have it automatically notify me when events occur. (If the disk usage on a certain server reaches a certain level, etc.)

Recently I've been interested in changing the point in which I receive a notification of CPU usage from our Database server.

For example, I receive emails such as the following:

DatabaseServer :: OurServer.DatabaseServer :: CPU usage
WARNINGs: user is 186.04 (outside range [:160])

I would like to change the point at which I receive this notification. Instead of "160" I would like to increase that to "190."

I've tried the following entry to the munin.conf:

[OurServer.DatabaseServer]
address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
use_node_name yes
mysql_slowqueries.queries.warning 5
mysql_slowqueries.queries.critical 10
mysql_threads.threads.warning 500
mysql_threads.threads.critical 600
cpu_user.warning 190
cpu_user.critical 200

But it doesn't seem to work. I've searched the web, and I can't seem to find the right syntax to make this modification.

I've changed the df plugin with the following command:

df._dev_sda1.warning 80

And I thought I might be able to do something similar with the CPU Usage.

Any thoughts?

Possible Solution

try

cpu.user.warning 190

instead of

cpu_user.warning 190

:)

c.
