Multiple X sessions via VNC

Is there a way that I can access an "X" session via VNC without interrupting the foreground "X" user. Kinda like an application server for windows machines

Sure. Telnet or SSH to the box and run
vncserver :x
where x is a number for the display. Start with 1, if that doesn't work, try 2, etc. Once it says "New 'X' desktop is machine_name_here:1", run vncviewer from another machine and connect to machine_name:x where x is the number shown above. It will not kill the x on the machine you are connecting to. Obviously there will be some degredation of performance since 2 people are working on the same box and processors can only do so much.
