Multimedia Keyboard and How to Disable KDE's Default Key Bindings

Hello forum,

I have a Gigaware multimedia keyboard and am running KDE 3.5.9 and KDE is pre-configured by default to assign key bindings to several of the multimedia keys such as volume, mute, and email compsition. My problem is that I wish to disable this automatic key binding because 1) it seems to be buggy and 2) I wish to use Lineakd to assign the key bindings instead of the program KDE uses.

My questions would be:

1) What program is KDE using to assign these key bindings?

2) How would I disable this program so I can use the program of my choosing, which would be lineakd, to assign the key bindings?

Thanks in advance,
Roy

You can disable key bindings in System Settings (kcontrol)--> Keyboard & Mouse--> Global Keyboard Shortcuts select the KDE component that you want to change from the drop-down box.

Deep inside KDE's personal/desktop settings menu, there is an option relating to keyboard shortcuts and bindings. This is where you should head.
