multimedia keyboard

Hello. This is quite a long shot but maybe someone can help me.
I have a multimedia keyboard model BTC 9000A
I'm using Slackware 9.1 with kernel 2.4.26 and my multimedia keys work just fine (both in kde and in gnome). When I upgrade to the 2.6.6 kernel only a part of my multimedia keys work. All but XFAudioVolumeUp and XFAudioVolumeDown (I don't know if this is their correct name). I tried running xev, and when I press these two keys I get no feedback, when I press other multimedia keys I do get feedback.

if someone could please help me... This is my last need to say that I can totally breakup with Windowze.

don't know..I have some Fujitsu Siemens's multimedia keyboard with about twenty extra buttons, and can use Gnome's prefences to assign commands to them except VolumeUp and VolumeDown buttons...I guess the others work. with those two, however, even though they're not assigned to anything (so they shouldn't do anything), I get an effect like I would press CTRL+ALT+F8; black screen, and get back to normal X server (F7) just by pressing CTRL+ALT+F7.

I'd too like to know what the heck is going on with these buttons...I guess something with the value they give when pressing, that seems to be the same as some key-combination..

not that I'd need these keys..but still
