multi seat login problem

hi there,

I have just set up a multi seat PC using ubuntu, I have done this before with success about 3 years ago with suse9.

I have got every thing set up I have 2 monsters each with its own login screen with separate working keyboard and mice. I can even login either seat and it works fine however when I try to login the next seat thats where the problem is.

I type my username into GDM
Press enter
Enter my password
press enter
then it asks for my username again
then pasword
then username

You get the idea, there is no warning message an it isnt specific to a certain seat its just whichever seat i try to log into second.

is their somthing i am missing in gdm.conf that only allows 1 user to login?

been googleing but havent found anything

thanks

berrance

ok i have enabled root login in gdm and that allows me to login to one display as a user and the second display as root.

as all my users are ldap users with nfs homes could this be a ldap or pam problem?

ok i have added a local user account and can login with that on both seats at the same time. it just seams that i can only login with one ldap account at a time. could this be an ldap, pam or nfs problem?

however i can still loginto xterm as many times as i like with ldap accounts so could this still be a gdm prob?

please help i am stumped
