Multi-line calculator application for GNOME

I am looking for a calculator program that:
  1. Has a conservative GNOME interface, multi-line display
  2. Does not require that one read a 50-page manual of commands, written by an extraterrestrial, just to complete simple operations (after all I already spent 3 years learning the TI-8x series)
  3. Can handle basic perinthesis use: (5(4*5)(5*7))/4
