mtink won't die
I can't get mtink to die. It won't close, and "kill -9 <pid>" doesn't work either.
I even rebooted, and it's still there. Any ideas? |
IF it's still there after a reboot then it's getting started by something. I have no idea what mtink is, for all I know it could be your username :-P
Anyway, search through your startup files, usually something like grep -i mtink * will find what starts it, then stop it if not having mtink ( whatever it is ) is what you want. |
mtink is an ink monitor for Epson Printers.
I ended up clearing the .mtinkrc file from my home folder, then restarting. It came up again, but gave me the option to select a port & printer. I could exit from this screen, so all is well. I think, from reading other posts, that mtink was waiting for the printer, which was for some reason not responsive. Somehow the i/o freeze made it so the process could not be killed. Hmmph. Thanks anyway |
