What are people using for MSN Messenger? I know they changed things around a bit that kicked many 3rd party apps off, are there still programs that use it?
Well.. I don't think the're supporting it yet. However, they've just included some things in the CVS version such as the Display Picture. You could ask the developers themselves in the forums at amsn! You might get a better answer.
i have gaim, but it doesnt allow me to runt he MSN plugin, says *****@hotmail.com was unable to sign on: Protocal not supported.
Any idea's what i could do to make it work? i like using only 1 program for my various chat programs, when i use Winxp i use Trillian so i am hoping someone will know how to fix this for me!
From 15th October, MSN Messenger server is no longer authorizing any client trying to connect with any protocol lower than v9.0 . Thus, some of the old clients were blocked.
However, GAIM has a new version. You should download the latest version and everything will be solved.
You can also try Kopete... it's a similar client you might like
I'm trying to install aMSN myself and I do this typical routine which are the typical instructions from the site and I get the error "/usr/bin/env: wish: No such file or directory" when I use the ./amsn command. These are the typical instructions I performed:
