gaim is nice - supports msn and other messaging networks
http://gaim.sourceforge.net (your distro will probably include a version as well) |

I found amsn very distrubing.. buggy and bad.. thought it would it att least support user-photo och webcam action. In my opinion gaim is better than amsn.. i havent tried Firebird.. anyone with experiance from that?
Found gaim to be the buggy one... keeps crashing and never manages to sign on..!!
Yes. I prefer aMSN (I only use MSN Messenger so it satisfies my needs) ... and it is a very active project, too.
Check out Kopete for KDE if your running it.
Someone else suggested KMess. It's very nice, but a little buggy.
you could also use centericq, it has support for msn too, has a " BIOS " appearance, works fine :P.

well i have to admit that gaim was a little buggy
but after 0.65 everything is great, i think it is in 0.69 now great soft. |
I too have found gaim to be slightly buggy. When someone tries to send me a file over Direct IM, it stops doing stuff. I have to kill it and relaunch it. Then, if someone sends me a hyperlink and I hover my mouse over it, it quits. Just diappears. So I've gotta be real careful like. Other than that it works great (version .59 didn't have these problems that .72 does though).
