MS Office in Playonlinux and language packs
Hello everybody,

I'm a professional translator, and while I love using Open Office for personal use, I can't always rely on it when clients send me docx files. I need the formatting to remain as in the original file etc. I've successfully installed Office 2007 to my PCLOS box and the only problem (and my dependency to windoze) are the proofing tools for my languages. Office comes with English, Spanish and French only. I have tried installing the additional language packs in all the possible ways. It doesn't work. I have tried copying the dictionary files and registry settings from my windoze install, it didn't work. So my question is, has anybody managed to install proofing tools for other languages? Or if somebody could tell me how to slipstream additional proofing tools into the installation disk (I would like that even better)?
Thank you for any suggestions!

Why not just inform your clients that you use open document format, and have them send you files in that format? If they're unwilling to install, then let them know they can get an add-on for their MS-Office Suite at

Mark, thank you for your suggestion. I've considered this, but I feel I should be able to accept whichever format my clients prefer. But never mind, because I figured it out! I managed to insert language packs into the install cd, so I got it working now. It's all described here: Maybe this helps someone with a similar problem.
