mqueue.h + no such file or directory

I am trying to compile an application using mqueue.h header file and it says no such file or directory
How should I verify if the header file is present or not?

well, when i did
whereis mqueue.h
I got the result that its present in /usr/include/mqueue.h

But what other reason would throw up similar error?
and I am including other header files too which are getting included normally.

Can you please post the relevant parts of the actual output. Did you first run configure? and was it error-free? It might help if you stated what distro you're using.
cheers,
jdk
