Question mplex an m2v with a blank mp3 (of the same duration)

Hi all,

i'm new to this forum so please be kind

Here is what i need to do (all from the command line) :

i created a movie (a series of jpeg files) and compressed it to a m2v thanks to mpeg2enc.

I know need to multiplex this m2v with a blank sound (mp3) of the same duration (for synchronization purpose). My question is :

Do i need to create an mp3 of the same duration of the m2v, or will it be extended to match the duration by mplex?

If i need to create an mp3 of let's say 30s, how do i do this?

Thanks for your help
