mplayerplugin cannot connect to a server when trying to play live radio

Hi,
I have compiled and installed Mplayer 1.7(latest release) and installed ffmpeg from the cvs. Most things are fine. I can play movies and watch embedded video with sound from sites like cnn, bbc. I also can listen to some radios. However, when I try to listen to radios on site www yayinonline com (each music sign corresponds to a different radio and my favorite radio is here), mplayerplugin says "connecting to 66.90.101.68[66.90.101.68]:80" and just stays like that. I can ping 66.90.101.68 and this site works fine under windows.

Does anyone have a clue into this? I would appreciate any pointers.
thanks,
selcuk

I don't know if its something with the protocol or media-format they are using but I was just curious and tried myself - does not work with mplayer or mplayer-plugin for the browser
- but it does when I use IE in wine...maybe some format mplayer can't handle?

thanks for the reply. I am not sure if it is a format problem... I had fedora4 and a previous version of mplayer(I dont remember the exact version) and this site worked fine with mozilla.

mplayer needs to have the proper codecs installed to decode the stream and needs to be compiled to support streaming media in the first place - the problem could be there.
But I suppose it would give some error message as to why it fails - but I did not see any. And I have all the possibly needed codecs installed.
With firefox the player-window would open and close immediately - and with epiphany (compiled using the same libs) - it opens the player window but stops shortly after it has made the connection - only IE in wine did actually play something.
I don't know about a way to troubleshoot this - sorry.
