Unhappy mplayerplugin

Hello

I have installed mplayerplugin 3.15 from source(32 bit) on my mandriva 2006 x86_64 laptop with firefox 1.0.7. The problem is that if I cover a window playing a video(in firefox) with another window completely(for instance a terminal window or anything else), the video stops playing until I uncover it partially. There are also problems when trying to watch Apple trailers(my mplayer is compiled from source). Namely, if i want to go to full screen, the plugin repeats in an endless loop the last few seconds of the video. On some apple trailer pages, firefox(32 bit) is crashed when the plugin is launched. I am guessing that all this behaviour has some common cause. I have experienced similar problems with the 3.11 version and with firefox 1.0.6 . Mplayer(32 bit) works fine and I can play all these videos fine in mplayer if I copy the URL. However, it's quite inconvenient.

My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 4.

Please help me repair these problems. Thank you.

why don't you uninstall the one you have and try the RPM build? It's available here: http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/

I have been using this for a long time and I've had good luck with it.

Hi chemdawg

I installed the rpm now, but it didn't change the situation. When I open firefox as root from a terminal , I get more info about what's going on and I would like to post it here.

When I cover the plugin window with some other window, I get:
Quote:
sending pause
pause clickd
and the player stops until I uncover it partially.

When the player repeats itself(this happens when trying to play Apple trailers in full screen), I get:

Quote:
fs_callback clicked
in SetFullscreen with 0
fullscreen = 1
height = 302 and width = 640
in SetFullscreen with 0
fullscreen = 0
height = 302 and width = 640
sending pause
pause clickd
Play: sending play
play clickd

And when I want to play a video(HD) and it crashes, I get:

I guess this is also firefox's fault.
Any help would be great. Thank's.

Upgrade to mplayerplug-in 3.17 and then set "nopauseonhide=1" in the mplayerplug-in configuration file to stop the pausing when the video is covered.
