mplayerplug-in doesn't play videos

I've been using mozpluggercvs for quite awhile now but it's been unable to play various video formats so I thought I'd try mplayerplug-in, which I've used in the past and didn't have much luck with. In fact, I think mplayerplug-in was having the same problem back then as it is now. That is, it's unable to play all videos. It buffers the video, starts to play it and then immediately stops.

Any ideas? How do I fix this?
Thanks

I use the actual MPlayer program and it plays any video format I have just fine. I'm not sure what mplayerplug-in is exactly but I'm assuming it allows the mplayer codecs to be used in your media player? If that is the case, MPlayer requires that the proper codecs all be in the right place before it is ./configured and compiled. Try getting MPlayer working first by downloading the necessary files and configuring/installing it correctly. Once you know the codecs are working, then try using your media player with the mplayerplug-in if that is what you prefer.

Hope this helped,

Actually, mplayerplug-in and mozplugger and both mplayer plugins for the media player integration within browers. I have mplayer configured as it should be, as far as I know. Maybe I should assure I have all the prerequisites satisfied.
