mplayer works great, gmplayer won't load

OK, so I have just installed FC2 with KDE, and I have to say that overall, I am quite impressed! However, I have just encountered my first 'unresolvable' (by me, that is) error.

I have put mplayer 1.0.5 on this box, compiled from source, --enable-gui option on. No problems. Or so it seemed. Mplayer seems to work great, but if I try to run gmplayer, the thing just hangs and gives me nothing. One of the problems (maybe?) is that the ~/.mplayer/gui.conf file is missing, so if anybody has a copy of that...

However, that doesn't make much sense, becuse couldn't I just put a blank file there, and let gmplayer fill it in itself? I don't know...

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

From the mplayer documentation: "It does not really have anything to do with the skin format, but you should know that MPlayer has no builtin skin, so at least one skin must be installed in order to be able to use the GUI. "

Check the full documentation out here http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/skin-overview.html

You will be able to find many different skins on the mplayer website.

Here is a guide I put together on another forum that gets you gmplayer up and running with the plugins. It has been a while since I updated the guide, but it should give you a good idea as to how to get everything up and running properly.
