When i open up a video file using mplayer in suse 9.2, i get 2 small boxes popping up near the top of my screen, both playing the video. However, the colours on both of them are messed up and i dont know what to do :S. If i want to close it, i have to go into console and its realy annoying. The arrow buttons to speed up the video play dont work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i'd guess this is just using the fbdev or mga_vid output for mlpayer, did you compile it from source? if so you may have neglected to install any X headers which would have been required to build X based video outputs. if you run "mplayer -vo help" what list do you get? if there is no "xv" or "x11" then it's been built without those options. if they are there, try using them explicitly, e.g. "mplayer -vo xv file.avi"
