MPlayer will not play Real Player ram files
I have installed MPlayer on my Red Hat 9 system, with the Real Player codecs. The ./configure comand says the RealPlayer DLLs are installed, but when I run mplayer and try to open a Real Video with the ram extension Mplayer says the file format isn't recognized/supported.
Am I missing something or will MPlayer really not play ram files? If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. |
I think I read somewhere that it works better if Real Player is installed first because MPLayer will go looking for codecs in Real Player's install directories.
Hope that helps. |
Real Player Was Instaled First, MPlayer picked up the DLLs and it didn't work, then I added other DLLs from MPlayer HQ And still could not play RAMs; but I never got Real Player to work Either. Do you normaly get a gui with the linux version of Real Player? By the way RM files work and WMV files do too but the RM files give me an error.

1. Did you compile MPlayer?
2. Get the newest version of RealOne - it worked for me with those. Greetz |
