mplayer to output stream

Hi, guys!

I made an application to normalize wav data beforte I send it to lame (to make mp3s)

I want to re-build an mp3 (because it has too low volume).

How can I make mplayer pipe the raw sound output to the standard output in order to normalize it?

I've been reading the manual, but haven't been able to do it.

Is there a way to do it? (by the way.. have to avoid all mplayer output from the stdout).

Maybe using another application?
