you had vesa? vesa is for a console framebuffer.... not related really. if you are doing resizing now, you're probably on xv now. run "xvinfo" in a terminal to see if it does exist now.

I'm talking about my video card drivers.
I had the stock "vesa" ones installed. I just installed the nvidia 4349 ones for my GF4 vid card.

xv I had before.I could see them in the preferneces for MPlayer.Only the movies wouldn't play with xv unttil I installed the NVIDIA drivers for my video card .Now they do :)

hmm, so you were running X in a framebuffer then i guess... that'll have seriosuly crippled it...

when I installed RH8, it didn't have NVIDIA drivers,so it just installed stock drivers for my GF4 card which,according to the XF86Config file,are called vesa drivers.
