mplayer redundant commands, anyone else having problems?

I'm having a problems with a couple of mplayer commands.

-idle is getting thrown back as unknown

and

loadfile <file|url> <append>

doesn't append to the current file playing if <append> is not equal to zero.

Is anyone else having these problem?
