MPlayer problems.
I am currently trying to run some .mp4 videos. The video runs find and I have audio but the audio is sluggish and blips a lot. I believe the audio codec used is AAC. Mplayer error outputs read
mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 36 bits!7 93/ 93 54% 12% 3.4% 0 0 mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 8 bits!54 114/114 54% 12% 3.4% 0 0 mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 108 bits! 128/128 59% 13% 3.6% 8 0 I installed FAAC/Mplayer/Mplayer codecs packages from linuxpackages (slack ware packages for pkgtool) Im running slack 10.2 and the default audio codec I use when I get the sluggish audio is mp3. I hope I supplied enough information for a solution to be found and I appreciate any help I can get. |
How is your CPU load and available memory looking?
|
Memory looks fine. Cpu load looks a little high though when I compare it to when I run a .avi episode with mp3 codec.
|
Is it possible the decoding is just hitting the limits of your machine? (Unlikely on a recent system, but you didn't post specs)
|
Possible, it is an older machine but I dont know if my cpu load is going that high. Everything plays just fine and the machine doesnt get slow or anything. I am basicaly going by my gkrellm readout. Any other ideas?

My apologies it seems it was a faulty episode. I didnt expect that since the previouse 160 where flawless. I tried playing some other mp4 episodes released by the same place and they work just fine. Thank you for your help.

No problem. Glad it wasn't your system.
