mplayer problem urgent
hi
whenever,i run an .avi file with mplayer,it just doesnt run,,when i try to forward it,i could see the frames,but the continuous motion is absent,.Dat and .mpg files play fine,plz help me out
i have been facing this problem for quite a time now,earlier the same mplayer worked well,plz help me out

what is your output/errors in the command line?
have you tried updating to the newest version of mplayer?
are you running the command mplayer or gmplayer?
rpmseek.com will have the link to rpm file for mplayer

hi there
try running ur files with xine (xinehq.de)
with codecs from http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br....52-1.i386.rpm
i haven't tried these codecs for mplayer,,also there are some codecs at mplayers website
try using them

i am using the latest version of the mplayer downloaded from the site.i dont get any errors,it just gets stuck up ,it doesnt move forward,,
i am using the command mplayer

yeah ,i tried both of them,for most of the .avi files,xine and kaffeine play them but without sound support and irregular movement of the video frames?wat does xine have to do with dma?

try getting up-to-date codecs for mplayer.
extract them to /usr/lib/win32 and see what happens?
also, is this happening on ONE .avi file, or all .avi files? Perhaps your video file is corrupt?

i got all codecs updated.and this is happening with most of my .avi files,though not all,i made sure they r not corrupt

i dont know swhy,but typing the following command makes the video work ,but not the audio
