Mplayer playes .rm files very well, yet it keeps showing these error messages (it is the same error message) but I can't read it as it prolifirates many many many times. I have to hard kill it with xkill to stop these error messages. Yet I can hear the file!
I have removed the mplayer-plugin-rm.so from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ and nphelix.so and nphelix.xpt are already installed in the above folder (they were there automatically), do I have to do anything more?
Also, what is this alsa-pulse (or what is this pulse in general)/ I have not seen it before on my fedora 7.

Helix does not have quite the capabilities of Realplayer; you may want to visit Real and get the Linux version.
Pulseaudio is a sound server that solves many of the traditional conflicts between ALSA and OSS by redirecting all output through Pulseaudio first before doing anything else.
The error message keeps producing itself that is it hard to read it.
Any way, this is what I could get so far from it: (Exactly, i could hardly get it!)
"[AO_ALSA] Unable to find simple control "PCM",0."
Clearly a matter of your sound infrastructure being set up incorrectly. If you aren't doing so yet, consider switching to pulseaudio. You may also need to look over your ALSA settings in System > Prefs > Hardware > Sound and in the volume control panel that can be reached by right-clicking on your speaker icon.
Solved!
I always use this site when I make a fresh install of Fedora, yet, since I am not very much interested in Multimedia, I skimmed this part!!!
