MPlayer playing mov: Audio no sound
Ok, installed MPlayer according to beyond.linuxfromscratch. Now I go to play the mov movies from theanimatrix.com and the video plays just fine but mplayer reports
'Audio: no sound' what is going on here? Why won't it detect that there is audio and play it? I tried the same video under Xine and it play audio but the audio is 5 seconds fast. I tested it under windows and the file plays fine so there's no corruption of the file... what is going on?! thanks, Jason |
ok... update... got Xine to play one of the animatrix movies... the latest one. it plays it just fine but still plays the others with audio 5 seconds fast.
so I figured I'd try mplayer on the one xine would play. When I try to play the file with mplayer it locks up my WM (enlightenment) ... I have to eventually CTRL+ALT+BKSPC to kill X and restart it. I know there are some mplayer advocates (its like VI vs Emacs between Xine and MPlayer it seems) out there... please help. I wish I could pick one player and go with it but I've noticed over the last two years that there are some files that one always plays better than the other... :( |
