mplayer (mmmm:))

have downloaded mplayer.
mplayer has said it needs libmp3lame.so to install so i have downloaded the lame package and ran ;
./configure , make and make install which i think makes all the files needed by the targets below.
how do i install the libmp3lame.so target now?

an edited clip from the INSTALL file;
-------------------------------------------------
Compile time options
=========================================
There are several targets which can be built from this
source code:

lame, lame.exe The command line encoder;

mp3x
lame_enc.dll
lame.acm
lame_enc.dshow
libmp3lame.a
libmp3lame.so

"make install" should install libmp3lame, as lame afaik cannot run without it.

You may need to tell the mplayer ./configure script where libmp3lame is.
