Mplayer issues

I've downloaded the MPlayer-1.0.pre3.tar. I logged in as root, untarred it and ran
make install
everything did its thing fine but now when i go to install the mplayer-common-1.0pre3-1.i386.rpm this happens
rpm -i mplayer-1.0pre3-1.i386.rpm
warning: mplayer-1.0pre3-1.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 75aa026a
error: Failed dependencies:
mplayer-common = 1.0pre3 is needed by mplayer-1.0pre3-1 is needed by mplayer-1.0pre3-1
then i type mplayer in the konsole and run a video and it looks like it would if it was playing and sound from the video is playing but the video doesn't show up at all. Thanks for your time.

i don't think you need to install the mplayer-common rpm since you installed mplayer from source. what you do probably need is some win32 codecs which you can get from mplayer and maybe libdvdcss for playing enrypted videos (not sure if mplayer comes with that now or not though).

OK, fiddeled around for a while got it up. No gmplayer though. Also i can't seem to run my dvd's using the command line. i try 'mplayer dvd://" then all the files in my dvd but it won't start them, is there an easier way or am i just doing something wrong?
