Angry mplayer "error: overflow spectral RLE", make it stop pls

When playing many videos I get this very very VERY !@!!!! annoying error from mplayer that is a popup saying "error: overflow in spectral RLE". Can someone please tell me how to stop this message. I'm using an svn version of mplayer, because they say the tarball is obsolete, I used to be able to disable this nonsense by running 'mplayer -gui -really-quiet', but this no longer helps. I've googled and found nothing of value. I guess the only thing left to do is browse the source code and comment it out. Do I really have to, this pisses me off.

Thanks for any suggestions

Ok, well I guess I solved this somewhat, the HARD way, commenting it out in the source code. It seems be tied to line 527 of 'wmadec.c', which means that it has to do with decoding Window$ media audio. Sure enough the audio of every file this happens on has something like 'Stream #0.0: Audio: wmav2, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16, 64 kb/s'.

Anyway, if someone knows a better way, please say so, otherwise I'll have to comment it out every time I compile mplayer.
