mplayer-dvd/ screen doesn't maximize..
hi..
dvd doesn't use the whole screen. even in full screen mode.. ?? thank you |
try -zoom option
|
thank you
that solved it! |
yeah that all depends on what video output you are using. i think that means you are using x11 anyway, and you ceratinly shouldn't use x11 if you can use xv instead. also they recently added a really neat auto crop feature, press w and e to zoom in on widescreen dvd's
|
yeah i tried -vo xv... but it just gives me blue screen with sound..
by the way, why is x11 bad? is it bad for my hardware? or just performance wise? thank you |
x11 means the scaling has to be done in software, using xv lets you put a lot of the load on to the graphics card.
|
x11 will typically use more than twice the processing power of xv, slowing the system down considerably. no idea about a blue screen, check the mplayer docs on how to ensure xv is loaded properly. if xv is not there at all then it simply will not play, but you're getting past that stage tho, so i presume that it's just not woking as it's meant to rather than not existing. check xvinfo too.
