mplayer doesn't play

Hello

I've just installed mplayer 1.0pre7-4.0.0 on FC4 (I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop), but it doesn't play. The message I get is

error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device

What's wrong ? Where to start from ?

Tthank you.

try another video output. If you are using the textmode mplayer, trying using another -vo option ("mplayer -vo help" to see the list)

If you have the GUI version, open the settings dialog and chaneg your video output.

right now you probably use XV but if you card doesn't support 3d,it wont work, try "x11" instead.
