Mplayer crashing in Gentoo 2004.2

I finished installing Gentoo 2004.2 today. Running KDE, Processor is a 1.8 GHz Athlon-XP Mobile, OC'ed to 2.1, 1 gig 3200 DDR memory, Sapphire Radeon 9800 pro. It's not the grapics card drivers, i'm getting 4300 fps on glxgears.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

When I run mplayer in the terminal, this is what i see:

It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

Check and search for "ALL mplayer". IIRC this is a documented bug. Try shutting down your browser (firefox?) and then start mplayer again.

I looked through, found a couple that I thought sounded kinda like it, tried re-emerging mplayer with no open-gl, etc, but no luck so far.

I'm also getting a segmentation fault when I try opening videos from the gmplayer menu.
