mplayer codecs
i just installed mplayer but i need some codecs, does anyone know where do get the divx codec ive found a couple of things about it but its all weird looking to me. im not sure what to do

You can also look at the codecs offered on Mplayer's site, they cover nearly all things I've ever tried to play

Hi
Take a look at http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/documentation.html .
Also you said you installed mplayer, then looked for the codecs, well you have to have the codecs installed before you install mplayer, so you should probably have to reinstall mplayer. If you look at the documentation it gives fairly good help regarding the various codecs you can use.

You must download the codecs from www.mplayerhq.hu and then put then uncompressed in /usr/local/lib/win32

Download the pakage from the mplayer home page, or even easier, use apt-get install to get all tha pakages in rpm
