Question Mplayer acting up

Hey everyone, I just want to thank everyone who helps me out ahead of time, now on to the question....

I installed the latest Mplayer build about two weeks ago, from source, and about half a dozen skins. At first it all compiled correctly, and the skins looked and worked beautifully. but lately somethign wried has been happening when i go to use mplayer. its opens without a hitch, and will play files without a problem [usually], but it seems that the control modules for all the skins does not come up correctly. i get like the top right corner of the module, but none of the buttons work, and i cannot see the actual controls on the module. i can play mpegs and avi and all the formats by right clicking on the window where the videos are output, but its really annoying not to be able to use the controls for mplayer.

this just happened out of the blue once when i started mplyer about a week ago, and i have no idea what happened. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling mplayer, and that didnt seem to do anything, it still looks the same, and plays with the same results. So i figured that it has to be because something else, possibly another program using up system resources, or an incompatibility with another program. oh yeah just antoher small thig that might help out figuring out whats wrong, when i try to do fullscreen the screen goes black, and the video stays centered in the middle of the background, so it doesnt get any bigger.

just one more thought, could using a dual display be part of the problem? does anyone else who runs dual display have any such problems with mplayer?? it worked fine in the begining like i said with the dual display working, so thats why i didnt think that it was a problem.

Thanks again everyone for taking time to read this long ass post.

yeah, I would think that might have something to do with it. If you are maximizing something onto two screens then it might throw off the controls or such. Even so, compiling from source is always touch and go so even on regular screen it might have some odd effects. You might want to look into the display options of mplayer and see if you can adjust the res or such.

good luck man
