mplayer + 2 diplays

I have an monitor connected to the external vga port on my laptop, but when I run mplayer one of the monitors is always just blue.
Is there any possibility to make the movie run in both monitors?

Probably. Might help if you told us what video chipset was in the laptop and are you trying to do this in X or on the framebuffer?
