MPlayer 1.0pre5 Install Error

Hi, all. I received the error message printed below at the end of my "make install" command. And yes, I performed "./configure" first, and it went without a hitch. Also, yes, I have GCC installed (3.3.2) as well as all the other required files.

I'm using Mandrake 10 official.

------
ffv1.c: In function `encode_rgb_frame':
ffv1.c:465: internal compiler error: in find_function_data, at function.c:329
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/> for instructions.
make[1]: *** [ffv1.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/MPlayer-1.0pre5/libavcodec'
make: *** [libavcodec/libavcodec.a] Error 2
------

I have no idea what any of that means. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert Aronson

Best way is to do this:

Go to your Mandrake Control center

then choose Software

Then choose Add/Install software

Then in the searchbox, type Mplayer

Just check the boxes and insert Mandrake 10 CD's and that's it!

Okay, so I gave in and got a Mandrake 10 RPM for MPlayer-1.0pre3.

However, after I pop all the CDs in, it gives me this error a "logger id" error or some-such. I'm root. I don't even have a password on root.

I've hit this error many, many times before whilst trying to install RPMs. What on earth is it?

Thanks,

Robert Aronson
