mpg to mov
Looking for a newbie friendly encoder from mpg to mov.
...or an application to edit an mpg file (I tried Cinelerra but it requires that you have mov file first, other Linux editors I found a bit too difficult to figure out, I need a GUI). Basically, I need to edit a film recorded in mpg - cut, copy, add subtitles, maybe some text and sound. Any advice? Thanks. |
mencoder will convert your mpeg to mov.
Try just doing : mencoder video.mpeg -o video.mov Might work. But you might have to look at the man page for mencoder but i do know it will convert the file you need. |
I get an error:
File not found: 'frameno.avi' Failed to open frameno.avi |
Not sure if this helps in your case, but avidemux2 can do cut & paste. Can't do subtitles/text. I'm not sure a good, mature video editor for Linux exists --other than Cinelerra, I've heard of Kino and MainActor, but don't know too much about them.
