MPC-style quality inclusive video screenshot montages in Linux.


Hi, I'm looking for some way to automatically create a series of video snapshots with the video file name, size and quality information displayed in the header, similarly to what Media Player Classic does in Windows.

It doesn't seem like VLC can do it (even through a plugin) and I can only find desktop capture tutorials and Windows/OSX applications through Google.

Okay, almost immediately after posting this I found videocut, but it's an clunky GUI app that doesn't tile well (I'm using a laptop from 2002). The man page says:

The current release of videocut does not support any kinds of command-line options yet.
So to clarify, I'm looking for something lighter, preferably command-line if there is anything (an MPlayer function, maybe?).
