MP3 players don't play a directory content

I'm running Mandriva 2008 Spring Free. I installed the XMMS player.

When I open XMMS and select to play a directory it shows the musics contained in the directory and stops. If I click on "play" it repeats the procedure. Show the names of the musics and stops without play.

If I select one file play it plays ok.

The same occurs with Kaffeine and with Amarok.

Do someone can give any idea about how to solve this trouble?

Greetings from Sao Paulo - Brazil

Ricardo

Try to get more informations on this by starting amarok or xmms from the shell, ie: start xterm, then

# xmms

Also try to find some options for these programms to make them more verbose (ie. a debug flag.)

Smile have you tried this

I have seen this behaviour with the audacious music player. It worked perfectly when a directory was dragged and dropped straight onto the player.Maybe this will work with xmms.
