mp3 Encoder/Decoder .wav Ripper

Hi all,

Im just about done converting from WinXP to Linux Mepis but there is some software that im needing for my Mepis dist.

The software i need is anythign that can rip .wav files from Music CD's, then encode them to .mp3 and then decode them to .wav for music CD's.

I have alot of CD's id like to have installed to one of my partitions but dont know where to start for the above needed software.

Any ideas chaps?

Thanks!

I use KAudioCreator to rip cd's directly to .mp3 format... It's simple and fast.

You could use a combination of cdparanoia to rip and Lame to convert to the different formats you want...

There are many options...

Hi,

When i launched the program, it told me to enable an Encoder, well, when i try to do that, it says that my email address info is not completed. Am i supposed to register? I was selecting the encoder that encodes to .mp3 format Lame i think it was called.

It's probably looking for CDDB
http://www.freedb.org/modules.php?na...rticle&artid=1

Under configure >> CDDB >> Submit tab:

de-select submission via SMTP
