mp3 download bot linux or windows

Hello,

I am wondering if such software exists, either for linux or for windows.

Sometimes mp3 downloads can be fairly time consuming as 0one has to manually search for all the songs.

Let's say I want the complete Iron Maiden discography (before I get shouted at, yes I own many many metal CD's including those. Is there a program that I can type in say something like

Iron maiden
All
320 kbps

And then leave as it uses my p2p software to search, filter and download the music ?

Thanks in advance

Umm... DC++? Bittorrent?
The linux versions are quite full of bugs, so I wouldn't recommend them. Both Bittorrent and Ktorrent are quite slow.
For windows, I would reccomend sdc++. You just find a user who has the full discography, click on download and it will search for alternate sources.

That certainly works and I have done it. However the problem with really rare music (like Norse folk music) is that often times no one has anything let alone the complete works, or if they do do they are in low quality. Plus that also requires me to search for a person with it.

I am looking for a program that allows you to use plugins to connect to various p2p networks, like gnutella or edonkey, and search and download for me. All I have to type in is "Iron maiden" and the minimum file quality, then I can leave it for a week and comeback to find most of it downloaded.

I don't think that program exists yet.

However, I am in the same situation you are. The reason why I download mp3s is because there are bands whose cds you can't order anywhere (mostly old black metal bands). I searched from some Norse folk music too, because I was doing some research on the traditions and culture of Norway, and trust me, you can find a lot of that! Yes, you have to search manually. Find some good hubs, and you won't need but 2 minutes a day to search. For metal, search the hublist for metalgods and darkarts - they are my personal favourite hubs, or go to hubs in Norway, Sweden and Finland for folk music or local metal.
