Hi there
I use evolution 1.4 as my mail client and mozilla 1.5 as my default browser in a Mandrake 9.2 and KDE 3.2 as my desktop environment.
Every time I click on a link in evolution it opens a new session of mozilla. I would like to open a new tab in mozilla instead.
I tried modifying /usr/bin/gnome-default-applications-properties by entering in the web browser tab: mozilla -remote "openURL (%s, new-tab)"
and the browser opened a new tab, but it looked for a %s address instead of the url it was suppose to open.
Any suggestions how to change this command?
Thank you in advance
Beny
Thanks jib2
I copied the script into a file that I called it mozilla-remote.sh, saved it in ~/bin and modified the "gnome-default-applications-properties", but it did not work for me. Have you any idea what might be wrong?
Beny
Did you make the script executable (chmod 755) ?
Is ~/bin in your path ? If not, you should include the whole path in Gnome Control Center
(i.e. /whole/path/bin/mozilla-remote.sh)
I used the alternative way to set gnome link to mozilla. However it did not fixed my primary problem, which is how to set evolution to open a link in a new tab in mozilla.
If you are using KDE (not GNOME), why would modifying GNOME
settings make any difference?
I use KDE too, and would like to set the default Evolution browser to be
Mozilla. I have changed the file associations in KDE and it still opens
Epiphany.
