Mozilla user profile

I was using mozilla and I went to see if a cable was connected to my computer and I accidently hit the power switch. Now, when I start up my computer mozilla doesn't start but when I click the icon I get the little box telling me to select my profile. I just click default and start mozilla but it gives me a "this profile already in use" error. How to I kill mozilla so I can start it normally?

You mean you shut the machine off by accident and when you rebooted it said mozilla was already running? hmmm...that is strange. Try doing:

ps -aux | grep mozilla

and then kill all the mozilla processes.

As root:
pkill mozilla

BTW There might be also a problem with temporary files - if possible remove everything from /tmp.

here is what I got
Code:
[darinf@localhost darinf]$ ps -aux|grep mozilla
Bad syntax, perhaps a bogus '-'?
darinf 3669 0.0 0.1 1724 600 pts/1 R 20:31 0:00 grep mozilla
and I think I killed it because now I get
Code:
[root@localhost darinf]# ps -aux|grep mozilla
Bad syntax, perhaps a bogus '-'?
I have deleted all from my /tmp directory and nothing happens after I type pkill mozilla as root. Still when I click start mozilla as default I get "Mozilla cannot use the profile "default" because it is in use. Please choose another profile or create a new one" I have tried creating a new one and mozilla work but I have none of my email, bookmarks, setting etc... I have ran kill 3669 and here is what I get when I run top, if it helps and it still doesn't work.
