mozilla toolbar favicons

i used to have favicons on my toolbar links, but after installing the multizilla plugin they went away. after i tried another plugin (googlebar) i couldn't even start mozilla as a user, so i had to reinstall it, but the favicons didn't come back.

i found those really useful b/c i could just glance up there and hit a link quickly from the icon without having to really stop and read them. i know it's kind of an obscure thing, but does anyone know how that is done or possibly how to fix that? fwiw, i believe it's something in the chrome folder somewhere.
