Lightbulb Mozilla Thunderbird question

Hi mates! I work at an office where Windows is the used OS, so most people in here is using Outlook as a mail client. I've decided a weeks ago to change to Thunderbird and I must admit it's working quite well although I would like to increase my privacy. In Outlook you have the possibily to assign a password to you mail account, so everytime to start the program a password for each account is asked for. Said that, my question is quite evident:

Is there any extention that allows you to put your own password to your account so no one can snoop your mails??

Thanks in advance!

Yes, but even under Linux if you borrow a friend or workmate to use you PC with your user (say, for a moment) he/she has access to you mail account!!!

Don't you think there should be something to solve such a privacy problem than even Microsoft has achieved??!!

Thanks any way for your comment.
